Jam omelette

Cooking Appetiziers Jam omelette

For a sweet breakfast treat, try this jam and cream omelette.

  1. Preheat grill to high.
  2. Beat egg yolks, sugar and cream in a bowl until pale. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until soft. Gently fold into the yolk mixture.
  3. Melt the butter in a 20cm frying pan and when it begins to foam, pour in the egg mixture. Cook over low heat for 1-2 minutes until the base is set and it comes away from the sides.
  4. Place under the grill, 10cm away from the heat, and cook for 2-3 minutes or until just set.
  5. Meanwhile heat the jam in a pan over low heat and then spread over the omelette. Fold in half, dust with icing sugar, slice and serve with the extra cream.
