Re-invent left-over hot cross buns with this tasty French toast breakfast idea.
- Place the cream, egg, sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl and whisk with a fork until well combined.
- Melt half the butter in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat until foaming. Dip half the bun slices, 1 slice at a time, in the egg mixture and place in the hot pan. Cook for 1 minute each side or until golden brown. Transfer to a plate. Repeat with the remaining butter, bun slices and egg mixture.
- Place French toast on serving plates. Top with figs and drizzle with maple syrup. Serve immediately.
