French raisin toast

Cooking Vegetarian French raisin toast

Make breakfast a special occasion with this simple combination.

  1. Combine 80ml (1/3 cup) milk, 2 eggs and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence in a bowl. Cut 4 thick slices raisin bread into quarters.
  2. Melt 1/2 teaspoon butter in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat until foaming. Dip 4 bread pieces, 1 at a time, in the egg mixture. Cook for 45 seconds each side or until golden. Divide among four serving bowls. Repeat with more butter and the remaining bread pieces and egg mixture.
  3. Divide 2 bananas, thinly sliced, among the bowls. Drizzle 1 teaspoon maple syrup over each bowl and serve immediately.
