Cooking Appetiziers Pesto hearts

Surprise mum with breakfast in bed - a perfectly boiled egg and cute pesto-topped toasts.

  1. Preheat grill on high. Use a 7cm-diameter heart-shaped pastry cutter to cut hearts from slices of white bread. Place the hearts on a baking tray and cook under grill for 1-2 minutes each side or until toasted.
  2. Spread 1 side of the toasts with bought basil or sun-dried tomato pesto and sprinkle with grated cheddar. Cook under grill for 2 minutes or until the cheddar melts.
  3. Place on a serving plate and serve with a soft-boiled egg.
