- Preheat oven to moderate, 180C. Lightly grease and line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
- Sift flour and custard powder together into a bowl. Stir in sugar. Rub in butter using fingertips, until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
- Stir in milk and cherries. Form into balls. Arrange on prepared tray, about 2cm apart. Flatten slightly using a floured fork. Top each with a piece of cherry if liked.
- Bake for 10-12 mins, until golden. Cool on tray for 5 mins before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
