Note: I add some room temp sparkling water to the mixture while simmering it to make it a little less strong. I add the sparkling water until I get the taste I prefer.

  1. In a pot, heat above ingredients to just a slight simmer...do not let boil.
  2. Remove from heat and let steep 5 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, remove spices and cooked lemon. Then add a fresh slice of lemon to each glass before pouring the hot wine over it.
