Mexican Hot Chocolate

Cooking Coctails Mexican Hot Chocolate

I remember my Grandma making this for me when I spend my summers on their farm. All Latino cultures have great Hot chocolate memories. The only difference is Mexican chocolate has cinnamon, and Almond flavors infused in the chocolate. Enjoy!!
You'll definitely want to curl up next to the fireplace with a mug of this tasty hot chocolate. We had a hard time locating Mexican chocolate at our store, so used cinnamon and almond extract as Giselle suggests. This is soooo good... and easy!

  1. In a saucepan bring the water up to heat, grate the chocolate (it melts faster) once it melts just add the milk, and froth with a Molinillo, you can use a whisk if you don't have one. Pour into cups and enjoy!!
  2. *if your using regular baking chocolate add the cinnamon and Almond extract along with the grated chocolate, and you may have add sugar or agave to taste.*
