To make this dish at home by prescription from the author Gomer would need: 1/4 cup Massel salt reduced chicken style liquid stock, 2 tbsp Kikkoman less salt soy sauce, 1 tbsp hoisin sauce, 400g pork fillet, thinly sliced, 5cm piece of ginger, peeled, finely sliced , 1/2 tsp Masterfoods Chinese five spice, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 brown onion, cut into wedges , 1 bunch snake beans, cut into 8cm pieces, 500g squash, chopped, 125g baby corn, 450g rice noodles, cooked, to serve, Freshly ground pepper.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Massel salt reduced chicken style liquid stock 
  • 2 tbsp Kikkoman less salt soy sauce 
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce 
  • 400g pork fillet, thinly sliced 
  • 5cm piece of ginger, peeled, finely sliced 
  • 1/2 tsp Masterfoods Chinese five spice 
  • 1 tbsp olive oil 
  • 1 brown onion, cut into wedges 
  • 1 bunch snake beans, cut into 8cm pieces 
  • 500g squash, chopped 
  • 125g baby corn 
  • 450g rice noodles, cooked, to serve 
  • Freshly ground pepper 

Instructions

  1. Combine the stock, soy sauce and hoisin in a small bowl and set aside. Combine the pork, ginger and five spice. Set aside.
  2. Heat half the oil in a large wok over a high heat. Add half the pork mixture and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes. Transfer to a plate, then repeat with remaining pork mixture.
  3. Heat the remaining oil in the wok over a high heat. Add the onion and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add snake beans, squash, corn and soy sauce mixture. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes or until the vegetables are just tender.
  4. Return pork to the wok and add the noodles. Toss until heated though. Season with pepper to serve.
