These Chinese dumplings are a great entertaining dish and taste great with a tangy dipping sauce.
- In a bowl, combine pork, garlic, water chestnuts and shallots with soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil and peanuts. Stir until coated.
- Place 1 teaspoon of mixture into the centre of each pasta square, brush with a little water and pinch edges to enclose. Place in a steamer basket lined with baking paper.
- Steam dumplings in a bamboo steamer or over a double boiler for 10 mins until cooked through.
- Heat a frypan to medium-high heat and add half the oil, pan fry dumplings a few at a time until crispy on one side. Drain on paper towel.
- Dipping Sauce: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Serve dumplings with dipping sauce, topped with extra shallots.
