To make this dish at home by prescription from the author WomanWorld would need: 8 oz. ziti pasta, 1 c. frozen peas thawed, 6 slices bacon diced, 2 tbsp. butter, 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour , 1 1/2 c. milk, 1 tsp. mustard powder, 1/4 tsp. salt , 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper, 2 c. shredded sharp white Cheddar cheese, 1 tbsp. Worcestershire.

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. ziti pasta 
  • 1 c. frozen peas thawed 
  • 6 slices bacon diced 
  • 2 tbsp. butter 
  • 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour 
  • 1 1/2 c. milk 
  • 1 tsp. mustard powder 
  • 1/4 tsp. salt 
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper 
  • 2 c. shredded sharp white Cheddar cheese 
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire 

Instructions

  1. Coat 1 1/2-qt. baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions, adding peas during last 3 min. of cooking time; drain.
  3. In nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crisp, 10 min., stirring; drain. Discard drippings.
  4. In same skillet over low heat, melt butter.
  5. Whisk in flour; cook, whisking, 1 min. Whisk in next 4 ingredients; over medium heat, cook until thickened, whisking constantly. Whisk in 1 1/2 cups cheese and Worcestershire until smooth.
  6. Heat broiler.
  7. Add pasta and peas to sauce; heat. Stir in bacon.
  8. Transfer to baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Broil 2-3 min.
