To make this dish at home by prescription from the author Gomer would need: 4 cups rolled oats, 1 cup bran cereal, 1/2 cup pepitas, 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, 1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped , 170g dried cranberries, 2 tsp ground cinnamon, 80g butter, chopped , 1 cup maple syrup.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups rolled oats 
  • 1 cup bran cereal 
  • 1/2 cup pepitas 
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds 
  • 1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped 
  • 170g dried cranberries 
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon 
  • 80g butter, chopped 
  • 1 cup maple syrup 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a large roasting pan with melted butter.
  2. Combine the oats, bran cereal, pepitas, sunflower seeds, pecans, cranberries and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Place butter and maple syrup in roasting pan. Heat in the oven for 5 minutes or until butter melts and is foaming. Add the oat mixture and stir to combine. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and stir. Return to oven for a further 5 minutes. Repeat the process a further 2 times until muesli is lightly toasted. Set aside to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
