Start the day with a spring in your step and a bowl of this crunchy muesli.

To make this dish at home by prescription from the author Gomer would need: 4 cups rolled oats, 1 cup bran cereal, 1/2 cup pepitas, 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, 1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped , 170g dried cranberries, 2 tsp ground cinnamon, 80g butter, chopped , 1 cup maple syrup.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup bran cereal
- 1/2 cup pepitas
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
- 170g dried cranberries
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 80g butter, chopped
- 1 cup maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a large roasting pan with melted butter.
- Combine the oats, bran cereal, pepitas, sunflower seeds, pecans, cranberries and cinnamon in a large bowl.
- Place butter and maple syrup in roasting pan. Heat in the oven for 5 minutes or until butter melts and is foaming. Add the oat mixture and stir to combine. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and stir. Return to oven for a further 5 minutes. Repeat the process a further 2 times until muesli is lightly toasted. Set aside to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
