To make this dish at home by prescription from the author Gomer would need: 2 cups basmati rice, 2 pinches saffron, 1 tbsp butter, 1/2 cup flaked almonds, toasted, 1/4 cup currants , 1/2 cup coriander leaves .

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups basmati rice 
  • 2 pinches saffron 
  • 1 tbsp butter 
  • 1/2 cup flaked almonds, toasted 
  • 1/4 cup currants 
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves 

Instructions

  1. Bring 2 1/2 cups of salted water to the boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in the basmati, saffron and butter. Return to the boil, cover with a lid, reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. Turn off heat and allow saucepan to sit for a further 10 minutes with the lid on.
  2. Stir in almonds and currants. Top with coriander and serve immediately
