To make this dish at home by prescription from the author Gomer would need: 180g rolled oats, 85g blanched almonds, 75g pistachio kernels, 65g shredded coconut, 45g pepitas , 125ml honey, 80g butter, chopped, 180g dried figs, coarsely chopped , 115g dried cranberries, Milk, to serve.

Ingredients:

  • 180g rolled oats 
  • 85g blanched almonds 
  • 75g pistachio kernels 
  • 65g shredded coconut 
  • 45g pepitas 
  • 125ml honey 
  • 80g butter, chopped 
  • 180g dried figs, coarsely chopped 
  • 115g dried cranberries 
  • Milk, to serve 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 160C. Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Combine oats, almonds, pistachios, coconut and pepitas in a large bowl.
  2. Stir the honey and butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat for 3-5 minutes or until the butter melts and the mixture is smooth. Pour over the oat mixture. Stir to coat.
  3. Spread oat mixture over prepared tray. Bake, stirring every 5 minutes, for 20 minutes or until golden and crisp. Set aside to cool completely.
  4. Stir in the figs and cranberries. Serve with milk.
