Sesame lamb patties with chickpea salad

To make this dish at home by prescription from the author Gomer would need: 500g lamb mince, 1 small brown onion, finely chopped, 1 egg, lightly beaten, 1 tbsp barbecue sauce, 1 tbsp sesame seeds , 3/4 cup dried breadcrumbs, 2 tbsp olive oil, 400g can chickpeas, drained, rinsed, , 40g baby rocket, 1/3 cup fresh mint leaves, 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced, 1 small carrot, peeled, grated, 2 tbsp French dressing.

Ingredients:

  • 500g lamb mince 
  • 1 small brown onion, finely chopped 
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten 
  • 1 tbsp barbecue sauce 
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds 
  • 3/4 cup dried breadcrumbs 
  • 2 tbsp olive oil 
  • 400g can chickpeas, drained, rinsed, 
  • 40g baby rocket 
  • 1/3 cup fresh mint leaves 
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced 
  • 1 small carrot, peeled, grated 
  • 2 tbsp French dressing 

Instructions

  1. Combine mince, onion, egg, barbecue sauce, sesame and breadcrumbs in a bowl. Shape mixture into 8 patties. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  2. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook patties, in batches, for 3 to 4 minutes each side or until cooked through.
  3. Meanwhile, combine chickpeas, rocket, mint, onion and carrot in a large bowl. Add dressing. Toss to combine. Serve.
