Melon, ginger and basil fruit punch

To make this dish at home by prescription from the author Gomer would need: 250g seedless watermelon, peeled, cut into 1.5cm pieces, 250g rockmelon, peeled, deseeded, cut into 1.5cm pieces, 250g honeydew melon, peeled, deseeded, cut into 1.5cm pieces, 750ml btl Stone's Green Ginger Wine, 1/4 cup small fresh basil leaves , Ice cubes, to serve, Chilled dry ginger ale, to serve, Fresh basil leaves, extra, to serve .

Ingredients:

  • 250g seedless watermelon, peeled, cut into 1.5cm pieces 
  • 250g rockmelon, peeled, deseeded, cut into 1.5cm pieces 
  • 250g honeydew melon, peeled, deseeded, cut into 1.5cm pieces 
  • 750ml btl Stone's Green Ginger Wine 
  • 1/4 cup small fresh basil leaves 
  • Ice cubes, to serve 
  • Chilled dry ginger ale, to serve 
  • Fresh basil leaves, extra, to serve 

Instructions

  1. Place the combined melon and wine in a large jug. Cover and place in the fridge for 1 hour to chill.
  2. Transfer the melon mixture to a punch bowl. Add the basil leaves and some ice cubes.
  3. Divide extra ice cubes among serving glasses. Pour in the melon mixture. Top with dry ginger ale and basil leaves. Serve.
