To make this dish at home by prescription from the author Gomer would need: 1 litre apple juice, 1/2 cup caster sugar, 3cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, sliced, 1 tbsp black tea leaves, 1/4 cup mint leaves, chopped , ice cubes and mint leaves, to serve .
Ingredients:
- 1 litre apple juice
- 1/2 cup caster sugar
- 3cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, sliced
- 1 tbsp black tea leaves
- 1/4 cup mint leaves, chopped
- ice cubes and mint leaves, to serve
Instructions
- Combine apple juice, sugar and 2 cups cold water in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir for 3 to 4 minutes or until sugar has dissolved. Add ginger. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Stir in tea leaves and chopped mint. Stand for 10 minutes. Strain into a jug. Cover and refrigerate overnight or until chilled. Serve with ice and mint leaves.
