Fruity wine and tart cherries make this a deliciously wicked winter drink.
- Cook cherries, wine, sugar, star anise and cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat until just before boiling. Set aside for 30 minutes.
- Use a potato masher to crush the cherries. Strain into a saucepan. Add brandy. Cook over medium heat until just before boiling. Pour into heatproof glasses.
