Cooking Meat Lasagne

You can't beat a traditional lasagne for a hearty winter warmer that everyone adores!

  1. Preheat oven to 180C (160C fan-forced). Heat oil in a heavy-based saucepan or frying pan on medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook for 2-3 mins, until softened. Add minces and cook for 5 mins, breaking up any lumps with the back of a wooden spoon. Add carrot, zucchini, mushrooms, tomato paste, tomatoes, oregano and ½ cup of water. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for 30 mins, until reduced slightly. Stir through spinach.
  2. Place 1 lasagne sheet on the base of a 28cm x 18cm ovenproof dish, spread with quarter of the mince mixture and continue with remaining mince and lasagne sheets, finishing with a lasagne layer.
  3. Combine ricotta and skim milk. Spread over lasagne layer, smoothing to the edges, and top with grated cheese. Bake for 25-30 mins, until golden.
