Make your own marinated goats cheese to serve as a gourmet starter with olives and baguette rounds.

To make this dish at home by prescription from the author Gomer would need: 240g aged goat's cheese*, 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced, 2 tsp thyme leaves, 2 tsp oregano leaves, 1/4 tsp dried chilli flakes , 1/3 cup nicoise olives*, 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, 1 tbsp red wine vinegar , Baguette, to serve.

Ingredients:

  • 240g aged goat's cheese* 
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced 
  • 2 tsp thyme leaves 
  • 2 tsp oregano leaves 
  • 1/4 tsp dried chilli flakes 
  • 1/3 cup nicoise olives* 
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil 
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar 
  • Baguette, to serve 

Instructions

  1. Slice the aged goat's cheese into six 1cm slices and place a slice on each serving plate.
  2. Sprinkle with the red onion, thyme leaves, oregano leaves, chilli flakes and nicoise olives.
  3. Drizzle with the extra virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and leave at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving with slices of baguette.
