To make this dish at home by prescription from the author sheff would need: 125g butter, at room temperature, 100g caster sugar, 1 egg, 2 tbsp golden syrup, 2 tsp vanilla essence , 375g plain flour, 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 300g pure icing sugar, sifted , 60ml milk, 150g Mars M&M’s, 75g Mars M&M’s Minis.

Ingredients:

  • 125g butter, at room temperature 
  • 100g caster sugar 
  • 1 egg 
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup 
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence 
  • 375g plain flour 
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda 
  • 300g pure icing sugar, sifted 
  • 60ml milk 
  • 150g Mars M&M’s 
  • 75g Mars M&M’s Minis 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 150°C. Line 3 baking trays with non-stick baking paper. Use an electric beater to beat the butter, sugar, egg, golden syrup and vanilla in a bowl until pale and creamy. Add the flour and bicarbonate of soda. Stir with a wooden spoon until mixture comes together. Turn onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth.
  2. Roll biscuit dough between 2 sheets of baking paper until 5mm thick. Use a 6.5cm egg-shaped cutter to cut egg shapes from the dough. Place on the prepared trays. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden. Set aside to cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Place the icing sugar in a bowl. Gradually add milk, stirring with a wooden spoon, until smooth (you may not need to add all the milk). Spread over the biscuits. Arrange M&M’s and M&M’s Minis on top. Set aside for 15 minutes or until set.
