To make this dish at home by prescription from the author Gomer would need: 280ml bourbon, 1.25L bought fresh apple juice, 8 cups crushed ice, 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 1 tbsp caster sugar , 4 red apples, sides removed, thinly sliced .

Ingredients:

  • 280ml bourbon 
  • 1.25L bought fresh apple juice 
  • 8 cups crushed ice 
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice 
  • 1 tbsp caster sugar 
  • 4 red apples, sides removed, thinly sliced 

Instructions

  1. Place one-quarter of the bourbon, apple juice, ice, lemon juice and sugar in a cocktail shaker and shake until well combined. Strain into 5 serving glasses and top with apple slices. Repeat, in 3 more batches, with remaining bourbon, apple juice, ice, lemon juice, sugar and apple slices. Serve immediately.
