To make this dish at home by prescription from the author Gomer would need: 6 x 7cm cinnamon sticks, 250ml dark rum, 1L apple cider, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 12 whole cloves , 6 x 1cm-wide strips orange rind, white pith removed, 1 1/2 tbsp unsalted butter .
Ingredients:
- 6 x 7cm cinnamon sticks
- 250ml dark rum
- 1L apple cider
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 12 whole cloves
- 6 x 1cm-wide strips orange rind, white pith removed
- 1 1/2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Divide the cinnamon sticks and rum among heatproof serving glasses or mugs.
- Place the cider, sugar, cloves and orange rind in a large saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a simmer. Strain through a fine sieve into a large heatproof jug. Discard the cloves and orange rind.
- Divide the cider mixture among the glasses. Top each with a teaspoon of butter to serve.
